In Reception we want to immerse the children in an environment that is rich in language, with the pleasure of learning to read and enjoying being read to at the core of our curriculum. We want every child to thrive and develop positive relationships within an environment which is both stimulating and enabling.
Our school commitment to building a culture where children not only value themselves, but our school values are at the forefront of our practice.
During the Autumn Term we will be focusing on ‘Starting School’ and the children will create be learning ‘All About Me’. We will celebrate their background and culture, their likes and dislikes and dreams for the future. We will also discuss the importance of keeping safe and healthy, self-regulation and investigate different ways of recognising and managing emotions. We will use our wonderful book 'The Colour Monster' to help us do this.
