Welcome to Heather Class
What a smart group of Year 2 children we have.
This term we will be learning about Wonderful Wellington. We will be learning all about the geography of the area that we live in. We are hoping (Covid restrictions permitting) to take the children on a trip to Sheppy's Cider Farm and also Wellington Park as part of our topic this half-term. More details will be sent out in the coming weeks. In the folder below is a copy of the planning for this term, where you will see what we are planning on covering this half-term. There are also folders for our class photos and homework.
Heather Class will have their main P.E. day on a Tuesday and the children can wear their P.E. kits into school. We are hoping to have our P.E. lessons outside, as long as the weather allows, so please ensure that your child has the correct PE kit, as well as a jumper and/or leggings/jogging bottoms in case it is cold.
The children will be expected to read at least four times a week and an adult needs to record any home reading in their yellow Reading Records, As well as reading, the children will be given spellings or phonics homework. This will be handed out on a Friday and is due in the following Friday. You will find copies of the homework for the different groups in the Homework Folder below. Please support your child with their reading and homework and encourage them to practice throughout the week.
If you need to speak to us, we are available before school for a quick chat, otherwise, please ring the office to make an appointment
