The Wind in the Willows

Lat week, some of you started to find out about The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. This week we are going to start exploring the story.

The book was first published in 1908, so you will notice some old fashioned vocabulary. If there are any words you don't know, jot them down and look up their meanings.

Open the pdf to find out what to do in this lesson.

Science

Last week we learnt about the different parts of flowers, and how flowering plants reproduce. See Lesson Presentation 1 as a reminder.

In today's lesson, we are going to learn more about reproduction in plants.

The video below is aimed at Year 3, but you may find it useful to watch.

  • Read through Lesson Presentation 2.
  • Complete worksheet 1 - Advantages and Disadvantages.
  • Cut out the statements (there are two identical sets but you only one set) and stick them into the correct places on the table.
  • Check the answer sheet. How many did you get right?
  • If you can, have a go at the Challenge (there are three levels - you can choose). Don't worry if you can't do it.
