Last week of Summer 1

Welcome to Pulman!

We have come to the end of another busy term, I don't know where the time has gone!

We started this week with me taking a group of Year 3 and 4 children to the Quad Kids Athletic event at The Castle School, Taunton. They all performed really well and were placed 11th out of 34, which is an amazing achievement. India was also placed 3rd in the individual girls competition, beating roughly 150 other girls. A fantastic achievement!

We finished our 'Jungle Japers' topic with a trip to the field. Unfortunately, we were unable to go to the park because of the weather, but we had a lovely time anyway!

PE will be on a Monday and a Friday, so can you ensure that PE kits are kept in school. The children will also continue to learn the ukulele with Miss Roberts next half-term, in preparation for the school concert later in the term.

Have a lovely half-term break,
Mrs Gage

Homework

Each week the children will be set homework. This will usually be their regular reading, spellings and then one other.

This week's homework:

Reading

Spellings
 - We are revising previous spellings.

Literacy - the children have brought home a poem to learn.

I will save any spellings or worksheets in the 'Homework Documents' section at the bottom of this page. Just in case!

Congratulations

I would like to introduce our new class counsellors, who prepared a short speech stating why they would make a good counsellor. They were then elected by their peers, so well done Archie and Susan.

They received their new School Council Ties today, so that they can be easily identified within the school.

Pulman Class Choir with their very smart new badges!

Well done to India for receiving a merit certificate in our celebration assembly this week. Keep up the good work.
