Little Red Riding Hood Week

Welcome to Pulman!

What a fantastic week we have had!

This week we have been celebrating art and literacy with a focus on Little Red Riding Hood. Pulman class have been learning 'The Wolf's Story', an alternative version of the traditional tale. We really enjoy immersing ourselves in the story and playing the role of the wolf! The children have worked hard to produce some great pieces of writing based on the story. These will soon be on our notice board for everyone to see. We have also sampled different art activities throughout the week, including finger painting, sketching, layering and even willow sculpting! I have incuded some of our photos in the gallery section below.

Next week, we will be starting our new topic, 'The Romans'. The children should have brought home the overview for the term, but I have also placed it into the  folder below.

PE will be on a Monday and throughout the week, so can you ensure that PE kits are kept in school. The children will also continue to learn the ukulele with Miss Roberts this half-term, in preparation for the school concert later in the term.

Have a lovely weekend

Homework

Each week the children will be set homework. This will usually be their regular reading, spellings and then one other.

This week's homework:

Reading - Reading 4 times a week.

Spellings - We are learning contractions, 'a' and 'i'.

Literacy - some of the children have part of  a poem to learn.

Maths - 3 times table practise.

I will save any spellings or worksheets in the 'Homework Documents' section at the bottom of this page. Just in case!

Congratulations

I would like to introduce our new class counsellors, who prepared a short speech stating why they would make a good counsellor. They were then elected by their peers, so well done Archie and Susan.

They received their new School Council Ties today, so that they can be easily identified within the school.

Pulman Class Choir with their very smart new badges!

Well done to Theo for receiving a merit certificate in our celebration assembly this week. Keep up the good work.
