Autumn Term 2020 - Activities you can do at home, if you are self isolating.

A few days of absence

If your child is away from school for a few days and they are well enough to complete school work, please:

  • Hear them read their school reading book and a book of their choice from home;
  • Help them to learn their times-tables. They have a log-in for Times Tables Rockstars which they can use. If you are choosing to help them, start with the easy ones: x 0, x1, x10, x2, x5; then progress onto the more difficult: x 3, x, 4, x, 6, x 9, x 11; and then, only if they are ready, help them to learn: x 7, x8 and x 12.
  • You might also use the internet to research any topics that are studied in school.
  • Please see the planning documents section of the class webpage.

A week or more away from school

If your child is away from school for a week or more, it is important that they access the curriculum that their classmates are benefitting from. With this in mind, it is advisable they have a daily Maths and English lesson, and that they complete one Science, History and Geography lesson during the week.

Having plenty of exercise will also be important, providing they are fit enough.
