Year 6 Leaver's Celebration

St John's Primary school year 6 leavers were highly praised during their celebration service at St. John's church.

It was a wonderful event enjoyed by the whole school, staff, church community and the year 6 families.

The children had their traditional leavers' song sung to them, read out their memories from over the years, were presented with trophies for efforts in school academically and socially, certificates, leavers scrolls and a gift bag from their teachers. They were also presented with a dictionary as a gift from Miles Halliwell from the Wellington Rotary Club.

During the service, the huge school choir performed their competition songs 'Shackles' and 'Unwritten' lead by Kirsten Wordley. They also heard their much-anticipated leavers poem from their Year 6 teachers which has now become a tradition at St John's.

The celebration service then finished with the year 6 singing 'Our Farewell Song'.

Many tears were shed by children, staff, and parents as they cherished the memories shared, and reflected on their time at school and those who will be missed. However, there were also many smiles and laughs had as the children were celebrated for all they have achieved during their time at St John's.
