Throughout the week, children have been learning all about our new King, decorating bunting for the windows and creating their very own crowns.
The celebrations then came together when the children arrived in school wearing lots of red, white and blue. During the morning, everyone attended a whole school service at St John’s church, led by Andrew Norris and Mr Priestley (Headteacher). The service was filled with stories, memories, bible readings, prayers and songs.
Children then were treated to a coronation tea party where they enjoyed specially made cupcakes, biscuits and juice with their friends together in classes and the school hall. Before the children headed home, each one received a Coronation badge from Wellington Town council, and a coronation badge made by a member of staff.
“Today has been a brilliant celebration for the whole school as we are about to experience, for the first time for all of our staff and pupils, the coronation of our new reigning monarch. Hopefully today, will be one the children remember in years to come with great fondness.”
