  • Mandela visit to Wellington Museum

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

On Wednesday 20th March, children from Mandela Class in Year 2 walked to Wellington Museum.

Whilst they were there, they found out all about the fascinating history of Wellington and its local area. The children then had the chance to explore some artefacts hands on. It was a great session, and it really enriched the children’s learning and will help them for the rest of this topic. The class would like to thank the museum for giving up their time to help us with our learning journey about the history of Wellington.

  • Easter Service

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

The whole of St John’s C of E Primary school celebrated Easter in true style on Thursday 21st March by spending the afternoon with family, friends and the local community at St John’s Church. Everyone joined in with joyful songs, and listened to the Year 6 children who read the Easter story. The service also had each class sharing their work with handmade Easter crowns, songs, poems, Easter traditions from around the world and prayers written by Year 5.

It was a really lovely service, and it is always a real pleasure to join our community in church and celebrate a special time of year together. We are always so proud of our children and they really impressed us today with reading aloud, performing songs and saying prayers. This is often a real challenge to speak in front of a crowd, for adults as well as children, and they did it superbly!
