Children and staff have had a thoroughly Royal Celebration this week at St John’s Church school, Wellington.
Throughout the week the children have decorated bunting, made crowns, learnt all about the Queen and her family, and created many pieces of artwork. This all then came together for a full day of celebrating the Queen on Friday 27th May.
The children took part in a crown parade into assembly, dressed up in red, white and blue. They then enjoyed a feast of fish and chips for lunch, with a very British trifle for pudding.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a school get together on the main playground, where children and staff enjoyed cakes, squash, flags, the National Anthem and glorious British sunshine.
After all of these festivities, the winners of the Crown competition were presented with certificates and prizes. All of the children were given a commemorative coins, generously donated by Wellington Town Council and a special jubilee badge made for the children by members of staff.
