All of the children have performed like superstars at St John's C of E Primary school, Wellington.
The children in Year 1 and 2 put on the show 'The Little Red Robin' and were incredible. The Year 2 children took centre stage, while Year 1 children performed as the choir. All of the children worked really hard to learn the songs, while others had to learn many lines. The performance they gave was magical and a brilliant retelling of the Christmas Nativity story with a twist. Unfortunately, they weren't able to perform in front of their families and friends, however the show has been recorded and is available to purchase so that it can be enjoyed at home and become a family favourite.
Year 4 children created a fantastic video of songs, poems and prayers which has been shared with local residential homes as the school choir was unable to visit them this year. This video shared great joy and hope to the local community, and comments were made about the festive songs and fab-u-lous dance moves! The songs could be heard throughout the school and put a smile on everyone's faces. One member of staff commented that it is not Christmas unless you can hear the children singing.
Year 6 children learnt traditional carols which were to be performed for the Reception class Nativity, unfortunately this was cancelled due to new restrictions. However, Year 6 still performed their song "Follow That Star" which was filmed and shared to all on the school Facebook page.
All of the children have worked so hard this term, under very challenging circumstances, but once again they have shone! All of the staff at St John's C of E Primary school are extremely proud of them all and would like to wish them a very Merry Christmas, a safe and happy holiday with their family and friends and look forward to welcoming them back in the New Year on Wednesday 5th January 2022!
