Reception & Year 1 Devon County Show

Year 6 are to be congratulated on the way that they approached the SAT tests. They gave 100% and approached the tests with a positive attitude – all the staff are extremely proud of them. The tests have been sent off to be marked and the results will come much later in the term. These will be considered alongside teacher assessment which is based upon attainment over the whole year rather than a “snap shot” which is formed in test situation on one day in the year.

A special mention also goes to the staff, kitchen staff and Year 6 team for helping with the SATs breakfast. This was very well attended by the year 6 children and really helped to provide a positive atmosphere before the tests themselves. I would like to thank Potters Butchers, Wellington, for providing the food free of charge to the school – I have been told it was delicious and we really appreciate their support.

Year 6 SATS

Well done to all the Year 6 children this week. You have done St.John's proud.

The children were allowed to wear slippers for the tests to help keep them calm, so naturally I had to share mine!
