SUMMER TERM 2019

 

This term our main topic will be ‘Early Settlements’. Our class novel and writing lessons will link to this topic. 

 

In Maths we will cover: 

Fractions - decimals & percentages

Geometry - properties of shapes; position and direction

Measuring - converting units; volume

 

Our Science topics will be: ‘Keeping Healthy’ and ‘Forces and Magnetism’.

 

We will also be having six hour-long sessions with Mr Tremain from the SASP team on the Healthy Futures Project - a targeted Key Stage 2 project educating classes on health and well-being, and what it is to be healthy.

Homework

 

Homework for Monmouth Class is given out on a Thursday and due in by the following Wednesday. This will be spelling list, a maths sheet and a literacy sheet.

Reading - children should read at least 4 times a week at home and have their Reading Records signed at home by an adult.

Spellings - the children will have a weekly spelling list to practise. This is in their red spelling books. These books need to be in school every Thursday, so we can give out the new list.

Times tables - these need to be practised at home. Children are expected to know all the tables up to 12x12 by the end of Year 4.
